Fats Domino’s real name is Antoine Domino Jr. He was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana on 26 February 1928. He was the son Antoine Caliste Domino and Marie-Donatille Gros. Domino has 8 siblings and he was the youngest one.

Domino was raised in a musical family. From his childhood, he attached to music. He had pure love and passion for music when he was just a kid.

Domino’s father used to play the violin. He had a part-time violin player job at a racetrack. Domino’s first music instructor was his father.

Domino didn’t have much academic study. Well, some of the sources mentioned that he went to Harvard University but left it to pursue a musical degree. After leaving Harvard he worked as a helper to an ice delivery man.

Domino’s favorite instrument was the piano. He learned to play the piano from his brother-in-law at the age of ten. His pianos instructor was a jazz music guitarist, Harrison Verrett.
