Early life and Education
Katy Perry was born Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson, to Maurice Keith Hudson, and Mary Christine Perry, on October 25, 1984, in Santa Barbara, California. Two siblings are hers: a younger brother, and an older sibling. Perry’s ancestors come from England, Germany, and Ireland. She received her elementary education at ‘Paradise Valley Christian School” and ‘Santa Barbara Christian School.
She was raised in a strict home with many restrictions. Only gospel music was allowed in her home. She was forced to listen to different types of music secretly, as she couldn’t hear gospel music at home.
