Early Life and Family
Litowitz was born in 1978 in New York City. He is the son of Barbara (née Goldberg) and Melvyn Litowitz. His father was a partner at the law firm of Sullivan & Cromwell and a member of the New York Stock Exchange. His mother was a homemaker.
He has two brothers, Steven and David. Litowitz began his career at the investment bank Goldman Sachs, where he worked in the mergers and acquisitions group from 1990 to 1996.
He then joined the venture capital firm of Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, where he worked from 1996 to 1999.
