On August 4, 1956, Margaret Cushing Whitman was born to Margaret Cushing and Hendricks Hallett Whitman in Huntington, New York, U.S. She is the youngest of three children. Hendricks Hallett Whitman III, her brother, and Anne Whitman, her sister, are her siblings.
